4th Annual Saz Festival in the Galilee - June 20th, 2015
Each year, near the time of the Summer Solstice, an incredible gathering takes place in the Galilee. The Saz Festival has grown from a small group of local musicians, dedicated to the music of the Land, to an annual affair that brings hundreds of souls together in a celebration of the life, music and spirit that makes the Galilee the central point for folk and ethnic music from all over the Middle and Near East.
Set in the natural environment surrounded by ancient olive and carob trees, the Saz Festival has featured some of the finest World musicians, of all religions, from the region. Instruments like the saz, lyra, kamanche, oud, frame drum, darbuka, ney, Turkish clarinet, jura, kanun performed by musicians who have dedicated their lives to perfecting their craft, presents an opportunity to experience something totally unique in the music world.
The videos below were taken from past Saz Festivals. Many of these same musicians will be returning, as they do every year, along with additional "special guests" who represent some of the best musicians from around the World.
