The Roi Levi tehillim experience @ womini

Young Judaea Year Course Group - Mifgashim
The Roi Levi Tehillim Experience is an interactive session in which the ancient Hebrew text of tehillim, (psalms), is brought to life through music. The session engages the participants in the translation and meaning of the tehila and guides the individuals in creating their own original musical composition through a group bonding approach.
The students receive a printed sheet in Hebrew with the English translation of the selected psalm, for example, Ki L'olam Hasdo (God’s lovingkindness endures forever). This prayer is written in a "call and response" style that invites the type of communal involvement that is used in composing the original music.
The overall group is separated into smaller groups of 10 or so each. The subgroups relocate to separate areas close by so that they can create and rehearse their compositions separate from each other. Groups are encouraged to use their instrumental talents such as guitar and/or piano and will be provided with various drums and percussion instruments to include in their arrangements. Roi works with each group in a rotating fashion, guiding them through the creation process.
The groups return to the main space where each will present/perform their composition which is professionally videotaped and recorded and uploaded to social media websites to be shared with friends and family.
The entire “Experience” lasts approximately 90 minutes.
The Tehila Experience is led by Roi Levi, one of the founders of Shotei HaNevuah and winner of the 2004 Israeli "Composer of the Year". His compositions like “Kol HaYeladim Koftzim Rokedim” are sung by music-lovers the World over and are a staple for many youth groups in Israel and abroad.
Roi has worked with many Israeli and foreign groups of all ages and has excellent English communication skills. The Roi Levi Tehillim Experience is an event that will “endure” in the hearts and minds of all who participate.
